    THE POSITION:

    We're looking for a full-time, detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to help our growing business. You enjoy multi-tasking and understand how to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. You are able to take on a basic task and run with it - anticipating needs to get from A to Z! You know when to work on your own and when to ask for direction. This position is responsible for payroll processing in a multi-company environment. Sample duties include processing in-house construction payroll accurately from start to finish on a weekly basis, including processing the payroll taxes, reporting, accruals, and other payroll/accounting duties as assigned. Construction job costing codes properly assigned is a must.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for accurately processing all types of employee's compensation and ensuring timely and correct payment

  • Handles data compilation, calculation of wages and processing of withholdings

  • Timely resolution of payroll errors and omissions

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of payroll tax requirements and regulations & reviews and applies these regulations to ensure full compliance

  • Maintains precise payroll records and prepares detailed payroll reports as needed, ensuring all payroll transactions are well documented

  • Performs regular payroll audits per pay period to ensure accuracy

  • Acts as a backup support to the Payroll Manager

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Associate degree in related field **preferred

  • 3+ years' experience in payroll processing **required

  • Experience with payroll software and systems.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion

  • Effective communication skills, capable of explaining payroll processes and requirements to non-specialists.

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
