As a Collins Supply Chain Procurement Manager for engineered items in the Power and Controls business unit, you will have the opportunity to scale your core operations skillset to include cross functional leadership, solution-based negotiating, cost management activities, strategic commodity coordination, and execution of procurement transactional activities. Engineered items reads across multiple part commodities providing an excellent proving ground for motivated individuals with interest in building a strong base within RTX’s supply chain organizations. Success in this role is defined by forging strong supplier relationships, strong internal relationships/teamwork, ownership of procurement tasks, strong project management skills, and positive execution to supply chain organizational goals and business needs. As a Manager, you will be expected to operate autonomously as a Buyer with a deep knowledge of processes and procedures.

You will be expected to effectively communicate with cross-functional peers, suppliers, and management at varying levels. In this role, you also will have ownership over and will be expected to drive supplier urgency and performance through your execution, supplier negotiation and driving & monitoring key performance indicators. You will be required to work both individually and on a team. Additionally, you will be on projects that will expand your creative thinking, business savvy, and negotiation skills.

What You Will Do

  • Directs and manages all schedules, and purchase orders for the client account or the product family.

  • Prepares purchase orders, approves payments, and negotiates prices to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly, under general guidance.

  • Responds to client inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Carries out activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, supplies, and services to ensure terms are in the organization’s best interest.

  • Compiles price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to provide input on reasonable prices.

  • Prepares request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages to take on new accounts.

  • Analyzes and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, including delivery, quality, and cost.

  • Responsible for all aspects of the relationship with a specific supplier within a commodity.

  • May perform delivery assurance responsibilities.

  • Travel requirement up to 15%

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract ​

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience working in the aerospace industry

  • 5+ years of experience working in a Supply Chain position

  • Basic technical aptitude to understand part production and rework processes, basic ability to read drawings, specifications, and contract language

  • The ability to communicate with executive leadership

  • Project management experience

  • SAP experience

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
