Job Description

The world's largest semiconductor manufacturing company is looking for a Sr Safety Engineer to join their team. The focus of this role is on construction and tool install including everything from crane and rigging work, confined space entry, respirator work, lock out tag out procedures, etc. You will assist with the creation and continuous improvement of an ISO 14001 Environmental Protection Management System and an ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) management system. You will help establish the EHS culture, enhance the EHS program, and ensure the Fab is in full compliance with all applicable EHS regulation and requirements. This includes facilitating EHS training in order to enhance awareness for employees and contractors, conduct Job Hazard Assessments, perform workplace evaluations, implement corrective EHS actions, review new Fab processes for EHS compliance , evaluate new fab machinery, and inspect waste management status. You will help communicate inspection results (and recommendations) and EHS performance to all levels, as well as organize Fab site Safety Committee activities. This will be a hands on EHS role, and not just oversight of personnel. Day to day will be half in the field, and work is conducted in inside and outside environments.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelors Degree required

• 8+ years' experience in Safety for construction and tool install

• Experience in semiconductor, industrial, oil/gas, electronics manufacturing, or other chemically intensive manufacturing industries (in the US).

• Safety experience ranging from all construction activities (such as crane and rigging work, confined space entry, etc) and tool install (such as lock out tag out)

• Experience working with internal employees as well as vendors and their Safety POCs

• Knowledge of current safety and loss control practices.

• Ability to read and understand engineering plans and specifications.

• Comfortable being onsite at a large construction project location and wanting to be in a hands on role. - Bachelors degree in engineering or science background (occupational Safety, chemical engineering or chemistry, mechanical engineering, environmental science and emergency response/management) null
