NVR is looking for intelligent, highly motivated, positive, results-oriented Engineering Drafter to join our Architectural Services Department. You will be part of the team responsible for developing the construction documentation and programming used throughout the sales, permitting, and homebuilding processes for our homebuilding brands: Ryan Homes, NVHomes, and Heartland Homes.

You will learn all aspects of the product development process as part of an energetic culture where we thrive on teamwork, collaboration, and innovative ideas. The process will allow you to make a meaningful contribution to the company as you participate in the creation of the 3D building information model (BIM) within AutoCAD. This includes structural analysis, floor and roof framing layouts, wall bracing analysis, and truss design. Once product development is complete, you will have the opportunity to assist homebuilding personnel in resolving permitting and inspection issues and respond to questions from the field.

What you will be doing:

• Assist in the creation of complete 3D building models using industry-leading software

• Develop highly detailed and accurate construction documents and wall panel fabrication designs

• Consult with structural and mechanical engineers

• Develop roof framing and wall bracing compliance plans

• Maintain project schedules

• Develop cost-efficient truss designs

• Assist homebuilding personnel in resolving permitting and inspection issues

• Communicate with municipal building code officials

Qualified applicants have:

• Bachelors or Associates degree or equivalent drafting / AutoCAD work experience

• 1+ years’ experience with AutoCAD

• Experience with 3D modeling software preferred

• Ability to read and interpret construction documents

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Strong attention to detail, planning and organizational abilities

• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced, professional team environment

• Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills

• Experience in residential homebuilding or production homebuilding preferred
