Private consulting firm based in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Grant Manager and Housing Community Development Specialist.
This firm offers services ranging from basic planning of Federal & State funds, to more multifaceted development projects. They are looking to expand their team due to increase business. Specific services offered by this firm include:
• Community Development
• Economic Development
• Housing Development
• Redevelopment Planning
• Urban Design
• Historic Preservation
• Grant Writing
• Technical Services
Salary is based on experience and education
Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm, 40 hours per week.
This position is onsite at their corporate headquarters located just outside of Pittsburgh, PA.
Responsibilities may include:
• Provide information and technical assistance to clients in regard to different Federal and State programs.
• Meet with municipalities, authorities, councils of government, business owners, developers, and non-profit organizations to discuss their plans and determine financing alternatives to accomplish their plans.
• Monitor and evaluate projects for compliance with Federal Regulations.
• Prepare periodic status reports, as required or needed by clients.
• Provide grantmanship to clients for Federal and State programs.
• Prepare feasibility reports and market studies.
• Prepare affordable housing studies.
• Perform related duties, as may be assigned.
Interest in the Areas of:
• Governmental programs for housing, community and economic development.
• Governmental agencies and the process related to economic development, redevelopment, land use, long-range planning, and physical planning/site development.
• Land acquisition, construction, reconstruction, and infrastructure concepts.
• Project management, contract administration, and budget/financial management.
• Local government entities and community development agencies.
• Accounting, finance, and budgetary procedures.
• Local environmental review, community participation, and general development process.
• Housing programs and services for the homeless, disabled, and protected classes of the population.
• Fair Housing and affordable, accessible, and accommodating housing.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements include:
Bachelor’s Degree or Masters Degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Geography, Political Science, Planning, Urban Design, Business Administration, History, or a related field.
Successful candidates should most of the following requirements:
• Communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
• Use of software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and GIS, with proficiency.
• Interact professionally with supervisors, co-workers, outside agencies, governmental and business entities, and the public.
• Work as a team member with others and the ability to perform self-directed tasks.
• Utilize skills in writing, problem-solving, presentation and public speaking.
