We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity if you are someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will give to the department by providing critical support by monitoring and engaging in activities to optimize the procurement process at CMU in support of the University's vision and applicable University and regulatory requirements.

Core responsibilities include: Reviewing purchase orders and other items to ensure compliance with policy and procedures and routing for appropriate approval Updating and generating policy and procedure for the procurement process. This may include leading and participating on cross-functional teams Collecting and analyzing data to provide clear visualize management reporting and dashboards, identify trends with improvement opportunities including alternatives and recommendations Lead process improvement initiatives and act as a liaison with a decentralized buying community and business systems team to improve efficiency and effectiveness

You should demonstrate: We are looking for someone who has a general knowledge of supply chain management practices/skills as well as general business insight You will operate with autonomy aligned to policy and procedures and be willing to interact expertly and effectively with all levels of management Ability to work with individual at all university levels

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or business related field required; Master's degree preferred 3-5 years of Procurement experience required Strong quantitative and analytical skills (data mining, analysis and /or reporting) Proficient with M/S Office, specifically with Excel, PowerPoint and Word Experience with ERP system (Oracle, preferred), data management tools (Power BI and Tableau, preferred), and understanding of procurement process (source to pay preferred) A combination of education and meaningful experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Additional Information: Work Posture: this position is operating on a hybrid schedule, with an on campus/in office presence of two days per week
