Job Title: Engineer II, Plant

Location: Plainville, MA

How will you make an impact?

The Engineer II, Plant will be vital in supporting the groundbreaking VVS commercial facility in Plainville, MA. This position will play an important operations support role in the site Facilities and Engineering team where they will support manufacturing, laboratory and warehouse operations in Plainville, MA. Assist any facilities/utilities activities during Tech Transfers of new products into the Manufacturing facility.

What will you do?

  • Lead small operational projects.

  • Assist in the development of requirements of new equipment, modifications, and projects that affect the utility systems.

  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with cGMP regulations and company SOPs.

  • Respond to utility and equipment related issues during production.

  • Act as Responsible Engineer for utility system(s).

  • Assist in annual revalidation efforts.

  • Specify and implement modifications to improve operational performance and compliance.

  • Uphold, define, and police safety procedures and safe practices.

How will you get here?

Education

  • A B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering or related engineering field.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • 2-3 years experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing processes within an FDA/EMA environment, or other regulated industries such as food and beverage, avaiation, maritime, etc.

Experience with any of the following unit operations or technologies:

  • HVAC operations

  • Electrical Distribution

  • Environmental Chambers and Rooms

  • Compressed Gasses

  • WFI, Purified Water and Clean Steam Generation

  • Biosafety cabinets, laminar flow hoods and fume hoods

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent communication, technical, and social skills are important.

  • Flexibility to accommodate to evolving priorities and deadlines.

  • Ability to be a great teammate, prepared to lead, work in, and embrace a team-based culture.

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

  • Ability to walk, climb stairs, bend, crawl, or reach for an extended period.

  • Availability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed to maintain facilities and equipment.

  • Knowledge of Building Automation Systems, Microsoft Windows, Excel, Blue Mountain, Trackwise and similar systems preferred.

  • Knowledge of equipment/hardware/software testing and associated protocols and lifecycle documentation requirements.
