PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Associate Training Specialist will coordinate training classes, instruct classes, assists with the design and develop of training materials and needs analyses. In the Learning Management System, administers, scores and logs assessment information. Runs reports and logs customer requests.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Presents training/instruction to both groups and individuals; coordinates scheduling of training courses, audiovisual equipment and other training aids; may coordinate training with other organizations; may help identify, orient, and schedule contract trainers; receives training and participates in needs assessment, course objectives development, and evaluation; drafts and reviews training plans with supervisor prior to implementation; studies and applies adult learning theory, group process and training methods to instruct adult groups and individuals. (40%)

  • Administers, scores, and logs results of qualification, learning assessment, and retention tests; arrange retraining or other appropriate action for insufficient scores. (20%)

  • Work with instructional designers, leadership and subject matter experts in the upkeep and development of materials. (10%)

  • Create training sessions, track and update attendance, assigns courses to learners, runs reports and other actions within the LMS. (10%)

  • Conduct training needs assessments. (10%)

  • Build, test, and maintain the training environment focusing on assigned module(s) including workflow testing, system configuration and build, patient build, and troubleshooting. (5%)

  • Handle customer support requests on rotating schedule (access request, access issues, training requests, etc.) (5%)

JOB SCOPE

Generally, this individual will instruct within one business discipline, but may provide instruction within other disciplines. The Associate Training Specialist may develop training materials and will ensure that instructional materials are updated and consistent with current policy. Class data such as attendance, evaluation results and knowledge check results will be tracked and reported by the Associate Training Specialist. Support the development of professional and instructional skills through class, seminar and workshop attendance. The Associate Training Specialist may make recommendations on training materials and media, interface with vendors, other training departments and various front-line personnel. They may make decisions related to student proficiency in a class.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associates degree in education, training, or instructional design Communications, Organizational Development, Engineering or related field with 1 - 2 years relevant experience. Or in lieu of degree 3 - 4 years relevant business experience. Knowledge/experience or the ability to learn evolving systems, such as assessment facilitation, need/task analysis, instructional design/development, and instructional evaluation Ability to learn and apply training and development processes of analysis, design, development, evaluation, and alternative delivery methods, including automated computer-based applications
