Organon is seeking a Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Senior Specialist to support our office and Company driver network in North America, Canada and LAMEX. Reporting to the SHE Director for Office and Driver Safety, the SHE Senior Specialist will be primarily responsible for managing the development and implementation of safety health and environmental programs for our office and driver network in this region. As a trusted member of the Organon Safety, Health and Environment team, the SHE Senior Specialist will work cross-functionally with country leadership, Real Estate and Facilities Management, Human Resources, Global Occupational Health, third party service providers and teams across all levels of the organization, to integrate effective and efficient SHE programs in alignment with business goals and values.
Responsibilities
Provide SHE oversight of the office network and remote worker safety program in the region.
In collaboration with local management and human resources, lead the driver safety program for the region, acting as the point of contact and subject matter expert.
Act as a single point of contact for business stakeholders, office, field and remote workers. Respond to requests for support, develop and provide resources and SHE communications to support SHE compliance.
Provide coaching and support to operational leaders and local SHE support personnel in meeting their responsibilities under the SHE program.
Provide clear and concise SHE performance data to operational leaders and office management that are actionable and support implementation of SHE programs.
In partnership with the Real Estate and Facilities Management Team, establish expectations for third-party office providers and drive consistency in the implementation of SHE programs across the office network.
Complete periodic visits to office locations in the US, Canada and LAMEX region, evaluate and monitor compliance at each of the 14 locations. Support the development of documented risk assessments for all activities.
In partnership with local teams and third-party SHE providers, monitor regulatory requirements and ensure completion of regulatory submissions required to maintain compliance with local and company requirements.
Ensure reporting of all work-related incidents, near-misses or environmental events in compliance with company reporting requirements.
In partnership with local teams, support incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring appropriate corrective and preventive measures are defined and tracked to completion.
Develop and implement programs to ensure the safety and health of all employees and continuously reduce SHE incidents.
Occasional support of the internal SHE audit program and third-party due diligence activities may be required.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Safety, Environmental or scientific discipline.
Three to five years applied professional SHE work experience. Office or driver safety experience would be an advantage.
SHE professional certification, e.g., NEBOSH, CSP, CHMM, or equivalent would be an advantage.
Familiarity with OSHA requirements.
Experience leading and delivering projects.
Proven ability to work effectively and independently, while working as part of a diverse global team.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work across functions and countries, in a multi-cultural environment.
High standard of written and oral communication. Proven ability to present information clearly and concisely through all levels of the organization and cross-culturally.
Proficiency in English language, both written and spoken essential. Proficiency in Spanish would be a distinct advantage as the scope of work includes the LAMEX region.
No relocation provided.
Hybrid working – Currently required a minimum of 1 day per week attendance at an Organon office.
Travel about 10-15%.
