Robert Bosch LLC seeks Hardware System Principal Engineer (Multiple Positions) at its facility located at 15000 Haggerty Road, Plymouth, MI 48170. Hardware System Design of complex infotainment products for personal cars. Full responsibility for Hardware design for upcoming ADAS/Infotainment products following XC Hardware development process. Responsible for the creation of schematic, with all needed process steps with transition towards layout. Collaboration with component sub-suppliers like (TI, ADI, Renesas, Qualcomm etc.) and execution of review phases for involved hardware components needed for successful design. Supervision of the layout with review phases, on frequent basis. Responsible for the creation of Bill of Material (BOM) in SAP45. Dealing with Engineering Change Notifications (ECN's), Purchasing department, BOM update as well as plant coordination for sample build. Bring up of the developed products with documentation of progress per EVA tool. Possible reiteration of redesign based on detected issues or required changes. Close collaboration with experts from Germany responsible for platform design and for components like (Memory, USB, Ethernet, BT, Wi-Fi, Power domain, High speed etc.). Collaboration with mechanical team for all possible component placement restrictions and EMC strategy. Alignment with internal test department (MFI) regarding testability (BSCAN, ICT, functional test) of design. Involvement into customer review meetings through whole design process for involved components. Status reporting to the customer of design progress, working out solutions proposals, resolving of design issues with components sub-suppliers. Design of any necessary accessories needed for Design and Product validation like test boxes, harnesses, interface PCBs, debug adapters etc. REQS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field plus 5 years of experience as a Hardware Engineer, Lead Engineer or other occupation involving in embedded automotive systems design. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Schematic/BOM creation experience (ZUKEN, ALTIUM, or CAD); (2) PCB Design (HDI, differential impedance for high-speed interfaces like PCI-e, USB, Ethernet, or complex PCB stack-up up to 14 layers); (3) EMC/EMI related design, with the current applicable standards for automotive; (4) Instrumentation (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, digital multimeter, or DC power supplies); (5) Programming (Embedded C and Python); (6) Common interfaces (I2C, CAN, SPI, USB, Ethernet, A2B, TDM, BT, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet); (7) “BusyBox” tools (embedded Linux flavors [yocto project]).
