Director Job Description

Director of the Senior Activity Center supervises the Operations of the Senior Activity Center in compliance with State and federal regulations. Coordinates Education, recreational, Social Services and nutritional programs for participants.

Qualifications: Knowledge of principles and practices of management and supervision;

budget administration, social, recreational needs of seniors. Grants writing and record keeping. Knowledge of regulations and laws regarding senior nutritional programs as well as meal planning for large groups. Supervision of volunteers and paid staff. Data collection, detailed record keeping. Must be proficient with computers including database and spreadsheet software. Must be highly skilled in Microsoft office programs.

Requirements: Must have Idaho Drivers License , Must pass federal background check, 3 years non profit management experience, Must obtain food handlers certification. Equal combination of education and experience.

Duties: Manages the daily operations of the Senior Center Nutrition program, develops goals and objectives for the center in compliance with Senior Activity Center bylaws and personnel policies, Hiring and staff development. Community Outreach including events, newsletters, social media and local media providers. Manages community feedback.

Liaison with Area Agency on Aging, government and community partner agencies, and the public on matters related to services for older residents. Provides information to local city and county governments, partner agencies. members of the public, and Board of Directors. Prepares monthly reports for required government agencies. Ability to de-escalate difficult situations or customers. Manages Financial records.

Must be proficient in grant writing. Previous grant writing/reporting experience is required. Administers budgets, conducts professional meetings, completion of financial and narrative grant reporting activities. Develops and coordinates programs of social and recreational services for program participants. Supervision of volunteer coordinator and activities. Planning of recreational programs for nutrition program participants. In conjunction with registered nutritionist prepares menus, monitors food budgets, manages vendors, assures compliance with regulations for nutrition program. Supervises preparation of meals and assists when needed. Maintains cleanliness inspection standards.

Work is performed in a generalized office environment. Full time position. Salary Range is \$55,000-\$65,000 annually.
