Inventory Control Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for leading direct reports to monitor and maintain accurate inventory. Leaders in this role guide, teach, train, and give direction to distribution associates and leadership. Partner with the General Manager or building leadership to ensure inventory accuracy expectations are being met. In addition, he/she investigates variances and communicates daily updates/research to allow the management team to approve and/or decline adjustments. Making inventory adjustment recommendations, as needed. Lastly, performs physical inventory counts, and reconciles actual count to computer-generated reports.

This role, collaborates with numerous departments and locations within the company to problem solve, investigate inventory movement, and provide insight to leadership to improve processes.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide actionable feedback to direct reports and warehouse staff, as needed

  • Lead, guide, and train staff on performing related work, as appropriate to the area of operation

  • Maximize relationships with internal and external partners to maintain operating budgets and KPIs with focus on driving down cost and improving overall service

  • Partner with DCs, Cross Docks, and Stores to ensure all communication regarding inventory is accurate and timely

  • Ability to lead others and maintain positive relationships with DC/Retail Management

  • Provide updates, as needed, to operation management and direct supervisor regarding inventory and system findings

  • Lead a team of Inventory Control (IC) Associates, Leads, and/or Systems Leads

  • In-depth knowledge of the HighJump (WMS) system

  • Communicate, follow-up, and train teams on inventory KPIs

  • Ability to analyze data to solve problems, communicating solutions and appropriately holding team accountable

  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork

  • Clerical, word processing, and/or office skills

  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment

  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Distribution Center experience 4+ years

  • Leadership experience 1+ years preferred

  • Furniture and/or appliance exposure preferred

Physical requirements and/or environment :

  • Must be able to constantly work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.

  • Ability to travel based on business needs
