TEKsystems Customer Service Representative in Portland, Oregon

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Seasonal Customer Service Representative to join our team. This role involves educating consumers, handling high-volume inbound calls and emails, and recommending products that best fit the consumer’s needs.  Job Description:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and problem-solving by responding to all inbound and outbound calls.

  • Utilize high-level negotiation and diplomacy to resolve differing expectations between customers and company policies.

  • Assist customers with new and existing accounts, account billing, and payment information.

  • Resolve customer inquiries efficiently and effectively.

  • Make discretionary decisions in granting financial and non-financial assistance to customers.

  • Continuously strive to learn about product and service changes.

  • Actively listen to customers, showing empathy and patience in a non-scripted environment.

  • Respond to approximately 10 emails per hour regarding product questions, tailoring responses to the specific customer.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.

  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft products.

  • A warm, friendly, and helpful personality.

  • Ability to handle tough conversations with diplomacy and tact.

Training: The first three weeks consist of classroom training from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The fourth week involves on-the-floor training. Attendance is mandatory during the three weeks of classroom training.

Peak Season: During peak season (mid-November 2024 to February 2025), the call center operates from 4 AM to 9 PM, Monday to Sunday. We primarily hire for opening and closing shifts. This is a seasonal role with the potential for permanent placement based on performance.
