Description

Jamie Benway with Robert Half is seeking an Internal Auditor for her client situated in Portland, Oregon. The selected candidate will be responsible for testing financial, anti-corruption, and anti-fraud controls, planning and executing financial, compliance, and operational audits, and working with the audit team. The job function also entails completing inventory observations and performing additional duties as required.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct financial, compliance, and operational audits

• Test financial, anti-corruption, and anti-fraud controls, ensuring adherence to industry and company standards

• Collaborate effectively with the audit team to plan and execute audits

• Compile comprehensive work paper documentation and draft audit reports

• Assist external auditors with year-end test work as required

• Perform inventory observations to ensure accurate record-keeping

• Address and resolve customer credit inquiries professionally and promptly

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect overdue payments

• Maintain updated and accurate customer credit records

• Process customer credit applications with precision and efficiency

Requirements • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in auditing, preferably within the steel manufacturing industry.

• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certifications are highly desirable.

• Proficiency in using audit software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

• Must demonstrate a strong understanding of audit methodologies and risk management strategies.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff and management.

• A high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required.

• Must be willing to travel to different company locations for audit purposes.

• Experience in using data analysis tools for audit purposes is a plus.

• Familiarity with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations in the steel manufacturing industry is an advantage.
