Curtiss-Wright Corporation Senior Sales Engineer in Portland, Oregon

PacStar a Curtiss-Wright company is currently seeking a talented Sales Engineer to join our Professional Services team!

Do you have Strong work ethic and are a professional engineer with a desire to excel supporting the assigned Sales Account team and respective programs?

As the Sales Engineer you will collaborate with sales team identifying opportunities based on complex requirements and communicate these internally within the business areas of PacStar. You will Work as the Consulting resource for a professional sales team to communicate compelling value propositions and maximize profit for products and services sales. You will also provide Technical guidance to other members of the Sales Engineering Team and ensure products and services are effectively delivered to the customer.

Your Challenge:

  • Senior Sales Engineering support

  • Technical Champion for PacStar products and solutions

  • Technical presentations and demonstrations to customers

  • Analyze requirements, produce engineering designs, create Statements of Work, Man-Time Estimates, Bill of Materials (BOMs) and proposal documents that utilize PacStar products and ancillary networking products for IP voice/data/security/wireless/networking solutions

  • Technical input into the development of sales proposals, including identification of equipment, contractors and 3rd party vendors required to complete projects

  • Support the sales process, account management teams and delivery teams

  • Interface with sales staff, resellers' and customers' technical staff in the identification of customer solutions

  • Designs, configures and installs network infrastructure and systems:

  • PacStar Strategic and Tactical Unified Communications Products

  • PacStar partner products (Cisco, Brocade, Aruba, etc.)

  • Obtain and maintain technical certifications necessary for PacStar success

  • Provide guidance and support to other Sales Engineering resources for delivery of customer solutions

  • Provide technical support and customer feedback for clients, product development and company

  • Respond to customer technical support needs for PacStar products

  • Coordinate or project manage implementation projects

  • Identify new product opportunities and customer requests

  • Communicate customer feedback on products to PacStar team

  • Provide technical and engineering expertise to team supporting all initiatives

  • Collaborate with Product Development team

  • Gather use cases and requirements from customer and communicate these to product development team

  • Suggest enhancements to PacStar IQ-Core Software and tactical kits

  • Use PacStar IQ-Core Software to assist in configuration of systems whenever possible, and provide feedback to development team

Your Expertise:

  • Reside within assigned region with the ability to travel both domestic and international 50% of the time.

  • At least 5 years successful technical experience supporting sales of technical products in similar fields

  • Have at least 2 -3 years successful experience deploying network technologies such as wireless, VoIP, LAN, WAN, WLAN, security, and/or enterprise IT systems

  • Current certifications:* At least one CISCO CCNP (Route/Switch, Voice, Security, or Wireless) required* Aruba ACMP preferred or relevant experience* Riverbed RCSP-W preferred or relevant experience

  • Creative problem solver -- ability to find creative solutions with a "can-do" attitude, in a fast-paced environment

  • Maintain professionalism, good attitude and appropriate behavior with PacStar personnel and clients

  • US Secret clearance or above is required

  • Good understanding of sales and support process and practices

  • Ability to communicate our unique value proposition and technical answers to customer inquiries

  • Solution focused to identify additional sales opportunities and customer needs based on technical input

  • Ability to work with customers to overcome objections and obstacles

  • System engineering skills with strong project and consulting focus

  • Ability to present complex technology to technical and non-technical customer audiences

  • Prior US Military Service with honorable discharge is highly preferred

  • Experience with any network management applications such as: SolarWinds, SNMPc, What's Up Gold, Microsoft Management Console, Wireshark is a plus

  • Windows security administration including certificate management, local security policy, Active Directory is a plus

  • The ability to edit XML and Windows registry is a plus

  • Experience using an issue/bug tracking system is a plus
