JPMorgan Chase Timberland Finance Intern - ETP in Portland, Oregon

Develop the foundation for a career in the timberland investment industry. You'll contribute to strategic projects in areas such as timberland valuation and portfolio performance, while benefiting from the mentorship of senior managers.

Summary of work

  • Gain exposure to the long-term modeling process and provide supporting documentation.

  • Review the appraisal/year-end valuation process and improve the tools for appraisal analysis.

  • Conduct attribution analysis of portfolio performance.

  • Shadow various team members and document processes in detail.

  • Research ways to achieve better access to real-time data on the portfolio.

  • Develop an understanding of the relationship and interdependencies between CG teams including Valuations, Forest Planning and Resources, and Portfolio Performance.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in forestry or closely related field from an accredited institution.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of SQL and R Statistics are a plus.

  • Good understanding of the major timber-producing regions of the United States, including inventory, forest growth and yield, forest operations and silvicultural management regimes.
