ADP Lead DevOps Engineer - Roll in Porto Alegre, Brazil

ADP is hiring a Lead DevOps Engineer

This is a contract-based position based in Porto Alegre responsible for developing innovative, scalable, highly interactive and engaging applications for the ADP Innovation Labs’ new, conversation-based application across mobile, desktop, tablet, and wearable devices.

You will work closely with a small team of front-end designers, data scientists, developers, and research specialists who will value your expertise in systems administration, automation, troubleshooting and latest Cloud technologies and frameworks. You are comfortable collaborating, but equally capable of working independently. You have worked with AWS Managed services. You have the Hacker’s spirit, who likes to tinker and decipher problems to unravel and interpret the inner workings of a system. And last but not least, you have initiative.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with Development and Quality Assurance teams, in an effort to ultimately support development, testing, operation and monitoring of the various environments, up to and including Production.

Troubleshoot and help determine what’s happening with the various components of the application as a whole

Help design and implement pipelines for build, test and deployment workflows of managed, containerized and serverless microservices

Report progress and status of assigned tasks to project teams and managers

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Analytical mind and initiative

Experienced in Amazon Cloud Services (Lambda, CloudWatch, etc)

Experienced in Linux shell, Docker, GIT and open source software as a whole

Strong understanding of CI and CD patterns and best practices

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Patience and empathy. You will team up with people from different parts of the world, who will not think like you, but we hope will complement how you think and work.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline is desired

Jenkins automation server

Terraform, Ansible or CloudFormation

Familiar with Shell, Python and/or Groovy languages

Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores, i.e. GraphQL, MySQL and Redis, for administration purposes

Good understanding of agile development and continuous integration

Experience with Grafana, statsd or other monitoring tools
