Aerotek Maintenance Technician in PRINCETON, Indiana

Description:

Aerotek's client is a dedicated tier 1 supplier, based in Princeton, IN that specializes in processing and storage of various types of steel. Their core principles are; Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Continuous Improvement.

The facility is a very clean, comfortable, climate controlled and modern. The maintenance team member will be responsible for assisting with various duties throughout the facility.

  • Completes various maintenance tasks & repair reports.

  • Assist management with preventative actions to reduce and/or eliminate waste and quality problems due to equipment breakdown / malfunction.

  • Investigate, complete and follow up on Root Cause Analysis for production loss or quality problems related to equipment breakdown / malfunction.

  • Participates in the continuous improvement program (kaizen).

  • Assigns/performs maintenance and repair tasks to team members.

  • Provides/performs equipment maintenance and repair supervision

  • Tig & Mig welding experience is required.

  • Use of hand, / power tools

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent; 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use various personal computer software (Microsoft Windows, Excel). Knowledge of metric system. Mechanically inclined, working knowledge of hand grinders, hand stone, Tig and Mig welding.

The employee is required to walk distances within the warehouse. The employee is occasionally required to work in tight, confined, cramped areas and at various heights above the floor.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
