Citigroup Commodities App Dev Senior Programmer in Pune, India

This role is within the risk management system for Commodities business, and it is responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements.

  • Identify and analyse issues, make recommendations, and implement solutions by co-ordinating with multiple technology teams.

  • Utilize knowledge of business processes, system processes, and industry standards to solve complex issues.

  • Conduct testing and debugging, utilize script tools, and write code for design specifications.

  • Assess applicability of similar experiences and evaluate options under circumstances not covered by procedures.

  • Develop working knowledge of information systems, procedures, standards, client server application development, network operations, database administration, systems administration, data centre operations, and PC-based applications.

Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of experience in .NET and C# ecosystem

  • Good knowledge of RDBMS – SQL, with ability to write complex SQL needed to investigate and analyse data issues.

  • Strong proficiency with REST API and WCF Services.

  • Good knowledge of SQL Server and design/architectural patterns.

  • Experience of working with Apache Spark (using Scala), Hadoop, Hive, and Impala will be an added advantage.

  • Good experience in working in Linux environment.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

  • Strong analytic skills & problem-solving abilities.

  • Good communication skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Develope, Design, testing and debugging, utilize script tools, and write code for design specifications.
