Nuveen Investments Director - SMA India Lead in Pune, India

Director - Full Stack Development - IN

Full Stack Development are involved in full stack development and implement end-to-end components of custom applications. Their job involves designing and developing the UI, business logic, data & integration layer along with testing and maintenance of these layers.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • They are adept in the use of tools and technologies across tiers, and are proficient in working with systems infrastructure, creating, querying & manipulating databases, APIs and integration, Front-end code (HTML/CSS, bootstrap, React JS, Angular JS) and web stack back-end technologies (PHP, Python, Java, ruby on rails etc.).

  • They have a sound understanding of CI/CD processes, agile development.

  • They possess deep understanding of programming fundamentals and can learn new frameworks, languages and tools as required on projects.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

  • 8+ Years Required; 10+ Years Preferred

SMA India Lead – Product Technology

A SMA India Lead will be reporting to the Client & Product Technology Lead in India, the role is responsible for driving the end-to-end product engineering capabilities to support the growth and transformation of the business. In building and setting up a world class engineering delivery capability, the Lead Engineer will bring functional knowledge, technology know-how and process awareness together to build a team capable of building platforms which continuously evolve to meet business needs. Special focus will be on building capabilities utilizing micro-UI and micro services-based architecture and build out applications and processes improving operational efficiency, using industry best practices, as well as aligning these to enterprise services.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an ambitious technology strategy and roadmap leveraging new technologies to launch new products and support ongoing products

  • Responsible for strategic leadership of engineering and delivery execution for technology and data solutions across the publics and private markets portfolios

  • Lead product engineering teams globally

  • Working with our product teams create and manage a best-in-class roadmap which drives the leverage of new technologies with data at the core supporting client outcomes – custom built and Protech solutions

  • In partnership with the Technology Product Leads, generate excitement and buy-in for the technology and data outcomes quickly, addressing barriers to success.

  • As part of roadmap inform the build and partner decisions, and ensure these are funded, supported to enhance client deliverables and scale.

  • Partner with colleagues across the enterprise and with external vendors to delivery best in class solutions - measuring success in terms of adoption, usage, improvements and industry recognition.

  • Support the global product technology leadership to increase market-share and margin through technology

  • Implement a process for continuous improvement, lower costs to serve and improving margins

  • Lead a world-class team of experienced engineering and delivery experts within technology, data and business intelligence

  • Set the priorities and focus for local and regional teams to support global engineering and delivery of core internal and client products and services.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ Years of experience in technology (product and engineering)

  • 8+ Years of experience in Asset Management with focus on SMAs

  • Experience with UX Frameworks and design principles

  • Experience with User Interface design & development using React, HTML5, and CSS

  • Experience building high performance multi-threaded applications/micro services using the Java/J2EE technologies

  • Experience in Spring framework, Spring Boot, Rest Services and API gateway

  • Experience in Database environment - SQL, PL/SQL programming, No SQL

  • Experience with containerization tools like Docker, Kubernetes, etc.

  • Experience in Program, risk, and change management

  • Good understanding of cloud providers and services – AWS (ECS/EKS, EC2, S3, NoSQL Database, IAM, IaaS, Cloud formation/Terraform etc.)

  • Proficient in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, cloud, data engineering

  • Proficient in Agile methodology

Preferred Skills:

  • Reputation as a forward thinker, especially in the technology and data space

  • Proficient in multiple infrastructure, cloud, mobile and network technologies

  • Experience in navigating across large, complex matrixed organizations
