Primary Purpose of Job:

Our Environmental Services team within Stantec’s Global Design Centre in Pune provides strategic and practical solutions to Stantec’s global business with environmental management challenges. We are seeking to appoint a Net Zero, Climate Change and Sustainability consultant to support Stantec’s growing international portfolio.

Reporting to the Environmental Services Leader, you will engage in multiple facets of environmental and sustainability consulting, develop skills in relevant software programs, and work with industry leading professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects within integrated global teams. This is an important role within our team and there will be ample scope to grow and develop your personal profile and learn new skills along the way to further your career.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Undertaking carbon foot-printing and developing low carbon solutions in support of our clients’ Net Zero plans.

  • Sustainability appraisal, natural capital, and social value assessments.

  • Conducting climate change risk assessments and developing adaptation plans and strategies.

  • Developing digital approaches to embed sustainability into our wider engineering and environmental services.

  • Providing support on wider sustainability and resource efficiency projects

  • Working within integrated international teams on multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Learn and apply new technical skills for the design, planning, and execution of environment and sustainability projects.

  • Work as part of small and large teams both in person and remotely.

  • Interact and interface with clients and environmental regulators where appropriate.

  • Assist in analyzing current and emerging technical issues.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Degree in Sustainability, Climate, Engineering, Business, Economics, Environmental Science… or other environmental related degree. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Preferred 2 to 3 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., advanced degree) and experience in consulting is preferred, but applicants with more or less experience will be considered on merit.

  • Passion for climate change, the Net Zero challenge, social value and wider sustainability as demonstrated in your studies or work experience.

  • Existing professional registration or ability to work towards a professional registration.

  • Desire to promote HSSE policies and procedures.

  • Skills in technical writing.

  • Skilled in communication and technical information exchange with Global project teams.

  • Disciplined approach to project execution and technical excellence.

  • Experience in the completion of some or all the following:

  • Carbon Assessment and Carbon footprint calculations

  • Low Carbon solutions for NET ZERO.

  • Sustainability reporting.

  • Natural Capital and Social Value Assessment.

  • Climate Risk Assessment.
