JOB TITLE : Principal Buyer (Represented)
SALARY RANGE : $72,594.89 - $103,706.98
DEPT/DIV : Procurement & Logistics
SUPERVISOR : Director of Maintenance of Equipment
LOCATION : Jamaica, JCC Building
HOURS OF WORK : 9:00 am - 5:30 pm (7 1/2 hours/day)

SUMMARY :
Responsible to plan and monitor bids, quotations, and purchase orders. This position is also responsible for
coordinating vendor qualifications and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) agreements.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Prepare bid packages, develop new sources of supply and obtain bids.
Analyze vendor qualifications and prepare cost/price analysis.
Tabulate quotations, issue purchase orders and negotiate sole source and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) agreements.
Prepare MTA Board submittals.
Control high value, critical and sensitive procurements.
Perform other assignments as requested by Senior Management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration or related field is required or demonstrated equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of the degree, subject to approval.
Must possess a minimum of four years in a Procurement & Logistics Department, including a minimum of two years as a Senior Buyer or other Supervisory Level.
Must possess extensive knowledge of procurement principles and techniques.
PREFERRED
Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (APP) and/or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).
