Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, propose and manage budgets, technologies and resources for projects.

  • Plan strategies for the development of designs and products on schedule and on budget.

  • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, stakeholders and contractors.

  • Prioritize, delegate and supervise all engineers’ activities and deliverables.

  • Manage, support, and evaluate engineers’ performance.

  • Hire new talent for the team and offer coaching and development opportunities.

  • Provide input in strategic technical decisions and solutions, when needed.

  • Build the entire technical documentation and project roadmaps.

  • Developing detailed plans for new designs and products.

  • Making determinations for equipment, staff and training needs.

  • Proposing project and program budgets.

  • Hiring and supervising staff.

  • Leading research and development projects that produce new designs, products and processes.

  • Provide clear and concise instructions to engineering teams.

  • Lead research and development projects that produce new designs, products, and processes.

  • Check their team’s work for technical accuracy.

  • Develop and improve the maintenance program for all the manufacturing equipment.

  • Use of MTBF and MTTR to improve the maintenance program for all the manufacturing equipment.

  • KPI’s tracking and improvement plan implementation (Safety, OEE, Downtime, Scrap, Productivity, Capital Plan, Cost Reductions, etc.).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish).

  • Minimum five to ten years as an engineer manager.

  • Strong team leadership, organizational and management skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Great analytical and math skills.

  • Ability to interact with many people at variety of levels within and outside of the reporting structure.

  • Analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

  • Communication skills for overseeing staff and working with other management personnel.

  • Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees, and schedules simultaneously.
