The WCB Cross Solution organization is a newly formed group with the Solutions team. Our objective is to build world class cross-solution capabilities to serve our customers, both internally and externally. We are seeking a technically experienced business programs leader to drive the execution of Industry Clouds and all internal facing cross solution programs around the world. You will be fully accountable for worldwide programs budget, delivery, strategy and more, collaborating horizontally across every organization within Microsoft (e.g., Product Teams, Field Teams, Enterprise Commercial, Marketing & Operations, Finance, and Engineering teams).

As Director, Technical Business Programs, you will be the key subject matter expert in how we design, test, and implement our Industry Clouds and Cross Solutions capabilities, and drive seller behavior through an innovative set of levers. You will work with key stakeholders to understand their needs and help define the business and technical roadmaps aligned to their needs and desired outcomes. Your deep technical, analytical, and critical thinking skills along with business and solutions expertise will be key tools that will guide a successful program execution over multi-horizon timeframes in a complex, fast changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Owns the program portfolio strategy, business, and technical delivery of Industry Cloud GTM for Field Sales Team Units (STUs) and Outcome-Based Cross Solutions; drive execution to results and manage outcomes.

  • Develop a deep understanding of business and technology needs and challenges, competitive pressures, and business opportunity.

  • Establish the objectives and program strategy to deliver business growth in the cross solutions space.

  • Communicate clearly about projects, risks, and accomplishments on behalf of the team.

  • Partner across Solution Areas, Field Teams, Enterprise Commercial, Marketing & Operations, Finance, and Engineering to ensure strategy and execution alignment.

  • Provide business, industry, and technical program leadership in partnership with a team of highly passionate solution architects, business analytics, data scientists, and other peers. Drive clarity by writing papers and creating executive stories that will illustrate the opportunity, develop the plan, and keep our team and our partner teams on the same page.

  • Drive data analysis and reporting needs for the team, including for monthly business reviews, regular status reports, and establish a regular rhythm for reporting and communicating insights and impact to key stakeholders.

  • Collaborate across the company to ensure consistent optics into impact and insights, and systems and tools integration by working with various stakeholder teams.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as senior-level leader managing technical, business or engineering programs with a track record of designing and executing programs which drive business outcomes.

  • Experience with cloud-based technologies across one or more of these solutions: Azure, Business Applications, Modern Work, IoT, and App Dev platform innovation or relevant competitive technologies. Ideally a portion of experience with public or hybrid cloud platforms

  • Deep understanding of business and customer needs, and their articulated and unarticulated needs

  • Ability to work seamlessly across groups – Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Senior Executives as well as across international teams to build a unified and coordinated One Microsoft strategy.

  • Must be skilled at inspiring others and building on their ideas to arrive at business outcomes and results.

  • Holistic solutions thought leadership with technical curiosity and aptitude to quickly understand our full stack of capabilities, technical challenges, and customer needs and how best to leverage technology and innovation to support Horizon-driven opportunities.

  • Growth mindset that can envision the future of how our business and technology will evolve –and how our cloud-based offerings can transform and disrupt markets and verticals.

  • Demonstrate passion and skills aligned with business insights and data analysis, and technical project/program management skills.

  • Work under compressed deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment that demands flexibility, high quality, and creativity.

  • Effective cross-team collaboration is essential to align multiple stakeholder teams to a common vision.

  • Strong track record of building strategy and developing sound project plans to deliver on business objectives.

  • Effective analytical skills to synthesize complex data sets into easy to consume and actionable business insights.

Location/Travel: You may be based anywhere in the United States. You can expect limited global travel, 0 – 25%, contingent upon Covid-19 restrictions.
