Amazon Senior Specialist, Global Service Compliance in Redmond, Washington

Description

We are seeking a stellar compliance manager with operational experience in internet service provider (ISP)/telecom obligations to join the ISP Compliance team supporting Amazon’s Project Kuiper.

Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities

We are seeking a stellar compliance manager with operational experience in internet service provider (ISP)/telecom obligations to join the Global Service Compliance team supporting Amazon’s Project Kuiper. Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Working closely with the business, legal, engineering, and other teams, you will develop out-of-this-world strategies for handling compliance obligations in creative, business-centric ways that allow Kuiper to move quickly. You will serve as a subject matter expert and analyst supporting Global Service Compliance to implement system functionalities, create and operationalize policies, processes, procedures, and develop mechanisms to meet compliance obligations. You will be a key interface to stakeholder teams defining and delivering projects on time and under budget. You will be responsible for defining opportunities to remove complexity without adding risk for Kuiper.

Some travel, domestic and international, may be required.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience project or program management

  • 5+ years’ experience in communications compliance

  • 3+ years’ policy, process, and procedure experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in operationalizing or assessing compliance obligations at a telecommunications or internet service provider

  • Previous experience managing regulatory audits

  • Familiarity with the global telecommunications regulatory landscape

  • Excited and passionate about innovating on behalf of our customers

  • Addresses issues head-on prioritizing urgent and important matters

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
