We are looking to hire a JIRA System Administration professional to support our Enterprise IT Support Services work at the Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC), Redstone Arsenal. AvMC is the Army’s focal point for providing research, development and engineering technology and services for aviation and missile platforms across the weapons systems life cycle. AvMC’s mission is to “deliver collaborative and innovative aviation and missile capabilities for responsive and cost-effective research, development, and life cycle engineering solutions” to equip the Warfighter with the best technology today and tomorrow.

Responsibilities:

  • Support AvMC CIO/G6 Service Center’s (ASC) services through the development and sustainment of its use of Atlassian Jira.

  • Develop and maintain automation workflows, develop plugins to extend JIRA Software and associated complimentary Jira Service Management and Confluence module capabilities , build dashboards for add ons as needed

  • Have ability to configure custom fields, create preset filters to be used for Agile boards or Dashboards; k eep Confluence and JI R A up to date with Software (upgrades / patches), test outcomes.

  • Assist G6 Directorate teams by customizing the JIRA/Confluence tools to meet the ir team needs

  • Review project implementations and direct team to make improvements as needed

  • Coordinate with G6 customers and Info Service Leads for testing and deployment of customer projects across multiple environments (DEV/STAG/PROD); keep e nvironments synchronized

  • Process Service Requests for JIRA/Confluence assistance submitted by G6 Arsenal employees on the AvMC Service Desk porta

  • Coordinate specialized JIRA integration; d ebug Atlassian-jira.log, Catalina.log and other logs to determine issues and recommend solutions

  • Provide strategic systems recommendations for implementation of future releases, and reporting metrics across the enterprise

  • Maintain confluence page of changes when tools are upgraded

  • Conduct capacity planning, performance testing, and tuning

  • Monitor and report systems metrics for decision making purposes

  • Provide system support to maintain highly secure and available Atlassian tools that comply with Cybersecurity SOP and system authorizations .

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • Eight (8) years of prior JIRA experience in a similar role

  • Strong knowledge of Atlassian JIRA and Atlassian Confluence software

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Active Security+ CE Certification or equivalent or higher

  • Active Security clearance required
