Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define and improve Sourcing strategies at business or plant level. May also include management of regional & business teams.

  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy. Basic knowledge of related job disciplines.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

  • Have full accountability for the annual spend within the global category and lead the development and delivery of effective category strategies which drive transformational cost reduction at pace whilst balancing supply resilience

  • Collaborate closely with senior leaders, general managers, and product leaders as the principal figure and expert for all matters relating to the category, and establish effective communication governance and process to regularly update the senior leadership team on all aspects of category performance

  • Integrate with external and internal stakeholder base whilst establishing effective governance, working process and performance management

  • Plan and execute all strategic sourcing activities within the category, develop appropriate contracting frameworks to commercially capture the outputs, and manage all ongoing performance against live agreements

  • Collaborate closely with procurement colleagues whilst acting as the lead negotiator and focal point for contracting – coordinating and aligning all activities within the category (eg supplier development / procurement engineering / dissemination of market knowledge)

  • Ensure that ESG is an important consideration and priority within all activities and actively look for opportunities to influence within the category strategies eg maximise opportunities for circular reuse in all aspects of the categories

  • Ensure that all vendor and commercial information is accurate, and maintained at all times

  • Be accountable for developing and communicating procurement world class strategies for the assigned category, supporting the delivery of global qualitative and quantitative targets.

  • Build close partnerships and alignment across the PDx business where the materials/services in scope of the role are consumed. Identify and challenge constructively business requirements with the support from the relevant Site Procurement teams.

  • Lead, manage and develop a global supply base that deliver business requirements across assurance of supply, quality, regulatory compliance, service, cost and innovation, for the categories in scope.

  • Drive a culture of collaboration and engagement across the global organisation. Work with other teams to share best practice across categories and business units. Support Site Procurement teams to resolve recurring deviations involving the category or the supply base under the accountability of the role.

  • Track and deliver of KPIs to drive mutual collaboration with the regional teams and support the global strategies.

  • Engage with stakeholders across the E2E supply chain – working collaboratively with all Supply Chain stakeholders across the business to drive strategies across the materials/services within scope of the role.

  • Be accountable for delivery of robust market intelligence assessment and act as the expert for category within GEHC PDx.

  • Support the delivery of the financial plan in category team.

  • Ensure full compliance with any applicable Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Use judgment and have the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems. Ability to prioritize information for data analysis. Use technical experience and analytical thinking. Use multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced experience in Sourcing & Sourcing Management at a global level of defining and delivering effective category strategies which achieved significant cost transformations whilst balancing supplier resilience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

  • Strong skills of establishing strong cross functional integration into the wider business

  • Excellent communicator across all levels of an organisation

  • Extensive experience of managing global strategic sourcing activities, developing appropriate contracting frameworks, and managing the ongoing performance within the category

  • Experience in planning and leading complex and detailed global negotiations that have delivered significant outcomes

  • Strong project management, analytical, and presentation skills

  • Adopts a lean philosophy and maintains a drive to continuously improve at all times
