Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) is seeking a Strategic Advisor to join our growing Care Delivery Services Team! About the Care Delivery Services Team:

Within Blue Cross NC’s Strategy and Diversified Business Group (SDBG), the Care Delivery Services Team is responsible for overseeing strategy co-development and execution as well as alliance management and advisement functions for Blue Cross NC’s care delivery service assets, inclusive of its cornerstone/current care delivery service asset – Alo, and its most recently acquired asset FastMed Urgent Care. The goal of Blue Cross NC’s formation of and strategic partnership is to expand consumer access to affordable, high-quality care via the support and advancement of independent primary care and urgent care.

In your role as a Strategic Advisor, you will help support and enable the strategic development, execution, and success of Blue Cross NC’s diversified care delivery service assets at multiple levels.

What You’ll Do:

Strategy

  • Facilitate collaboration between internal/external stakeholders to identify strategic partnership initiatives between Blue Cross NC (proper) and Blue Cross NC care delivery service assets that will drive collective value; work directly with staff and senior leadership across organizations to proactively identify and prioritize strategic needs that advance achievement of cross-enterprise goals, drive the strategic development process to address these needs and create meaningful outputs

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on both Blue Cross NC and Blue Cross NC care delivery service assets’ strategy and stay abreast of industry and competitor developments to help inform assets’ strategy evolution, ensure strategic imperatives of assets’ formation/acquisition are met

  • Provide input on the value of additional partnerships/transactions leveraging relevant Blue Cross NC subject matter experts, internal and external data assets

Execution/Operations

  • Help manage and maintain an effective shared governance structure between Blue Cross NC and Blue Cross NC care delivery service assets; coordinate and co-facilitate shared governance structure meetings, related processes to identify new strategic partnership initiatives, prioritize their selection via business case development and comparison, and drive successful implementation/execution as appropriate

  • Conduct data analysis and research to provide actionable insights as it relates to potential partnership and standalone diversified care delivery service asset growth initiatives, drive or support subsequent business case development and cross-organizational decision-making based on initiative type and asset governance structure

  • Oversee the implementation/execution of partnership initiatives by defining projects’ scope, developing project plans, determining needs and allocating resources, coordinating and facilitating meetings, anticipating and mitigating project risk(s), and monitoring and reporting on progress/success via formation and tracking of KPIs

  • Co-manage the completion of key ancillary partnership activities required to ensure/enhance partnership or acquisition success such as: internal/external communications; legal/compliance; financial monitoring/reporting

  • Prepare presentations to keep Blue Cross NC senior leadership abreast of care delivery service assets’ progress and performance as appropriate

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 3+ years of experience in related field

  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in strategic development, business development, strategic planning, market/product development, business operations, health care operations and/or project management with health care providers and/or payors strongly preferred

OR

  • Internal candidates with 3-5 years of broad-based health insurance/health care experience and direct exposure to applicable business areas (i.e., innovation, strategic planning/operations, strategy/business development, healthcare strategy/operations, segment strategy/operations) will also be considered

Salary Range

$77,200.00 - $123,400.00
