Job Description Summary

The EMEA Category Sourcing Leader (ECL) role for Program Cost and Travel & Living (PTL) is pivotal in driving regional strategy, cost productivity, cash improvement and efficiencies through management of the EMEA supplier base for the Category.

Program Cost scope is mostly covering GEHC Marketing & Events spend.

Travel & Living covers all T&L fields (Air, Hotels, etc) including Fleet.

The role supports Region Sourcing leaders and collaborates with GEHC Global Category Sourcing Leaders, SBU Leaders, and other GE Business Sourcing Leaders for shared spend.

The role

The EMEA PT&L Sourcing leader will report directly to Region Sourcing Manager and will be dotted-lined to Global Category Sourcing Managers of T&L and PSP/Labor (for Program Cost). A support resource will be reporting to the ECL PT&L. Recruitment of this resource will be among the chosen candidate’s first tasks.

Job Description

Location is expected in Hungary (Budapest) or Poland (Krakow or Warsaw), potentially home based in Eastern Europe.

Key responsibilities include

  • Customers travels (highly connected with our Compliance department)

  • Develop and maintain the business productivity metrics for Indirect Sourcing in the Region, ensuring their accuracy, identifying new areas of opportunity to drive cost out, cash improvement, implement operating efficiency and productivity.

  • Develop and implement Indirect Sourcing strategy, processes or GEHC policies for the Category in their respective Region in line with GEHC Global Sourcing initiatives. Ensure regional fit and incorporates business CTQ’s.

  • Collaborate with Global Category Sourcing Managers on initiatives to ensure alignment with Global Strategy and interface between Global Category Sourcing Managers and Regional Sourcing Leaders across the Category.

  • Drive business metrics affected by Indirect Sourcing.

  • Own achieving Indirect savings targets for the Category in EMEA, leading and owning project execution in their home geographical location. Support project execution & escalation for PT&L projects managed by Regional Sourcing Leaders in EMEA.

  • Responsible for supply-base risk management, ensuring all compliance and quality standards are met.

  • Identify and own pan EMEA and cross SBU supply base.

  • Drive strategic discussions with EMEA team, aligning with Global Category Sourcing strategy, to generate cost-out and cash improvement opportunities.

  • Leverage total volume for all SBUs and other GE Businesses to negotiate regional pricing, payment terms and other respective terms and conditions.

  • Provide feedback, coaching, training, and support to Regional Sourcing Leaders.

  • Lead market intelligence within the Category in EMEA, in strong partnership with the Global Category Leader and external support; identify and communicate new technologies and solutions in PT&L spend areas.

  • Lead supplier contract negotiations for cross-country/region as assigned and lead regular business review with regional suppliers, ensuring suppliers meet their contractual obligations.

  • Develop regional Preferred Suppliers and manage supplier relationships and opportunities for cost-out and quality of goods and services, while ensuring production, delivery, capacity and compliance requirement.

  • Drive compliance with Preferred Suppliers across the Region and work with Region Sourcing Leaders to reduce leakage

  • Conduct detailed demand, spend, cost, market analysis and a structured approach to tendering and negotiating with suppliers.

Quality Specific Goals

  • Aware of and comply with GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to their Category

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

  • Knowledge and understanding of GEHC Purchasing Controls Procedure and associated Work Instructions and operates within them to ensure that all purchased product and services conform to specified requirements.

  • Develop and maintain qualified and compliant supply base.

Qualifications

  • Formal sourcing qualification / Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management or relevant training to the Category

  • Significant experience in a sophisticated sourcing environment with some commercial sourcing experience

  • Knowledge and experience of Marketing and T&L Categories

  • Experience in building out procurement processes and category strategies.

  • Delivered cross border, cross SBU / Functional / Business savings, and / or initiatives projects

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously

  • Ability to motivate and lead virtual teams

  • Ability to challenge status quo

  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of time

  • Fully proficient in English

  • Greenbelt or Black Belt certification preferred.
