Leidos Solutions Architect in Remote, United States

Description

The NISC IV program at Leidos is seeking a Solutions Architect to join our dynamic team. In this role you will be responsible for translating business requirements into technical solutions for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Office of Aviation Safety. You will work closely with our clients, engineering teams, and project managers to design, develop, and deliver solutions that meet our client’s needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership in terms of whole system solution, covering technical, service and process aspects. Assist the development team in developing solutions that meet the customer requirements, while engaging with the FAA Cloud Services team to ensure that solutions are deliverable and maintainable

  • Conducts system architecture evaluation and collaborates with project management and IT development teams to improve the architecture

  • Work in partnership with the Project Manager to ensure a successful delivery. Defining a technical solution that is acceptable to the client within the project constraints of cost, schedule, and risk

  • Ensure that new development efforts appropriately integrate with the current mission legacy systems and FAA data sources

  • Provide architectural support, guidance, and advice to software development teams on using the AWS cloud services and security

  • Communicate and enforce architectural guidance, direction, and decisions with technical teams using the AWS cloud platform

  • Provide a leadership role in supporting the cloud migration activities and providing solutions expertise

  • Engaging with the customer to ensure that solutions are deliverable

  • Be the point of contact for customer technical issues and requirements clarification.

  • Lead technical presentations and demonstrations for clients and stakeholders.

  • Present and champion design decisions with the customer to ensure acceptance

  • Identify and manage technical risks

  • Delegate tasks as necessary to the team and maintains accountability for results

  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior developers and engineers

  • Create and update cloud architecture diagrams and documentation.

  • Identify, evaluate, and demonstrate solutions to complex system problems.

  • Actively participate in all customer software development stage reviews

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 10+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 8+ years or prior relevant experience.

  • Generally, has 7+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.

  • Minimum of 10 – 12 years of experience related to IT Management or other information technology solutions architecture role

  • Experienced in implementing and overseeing cloud computing strategy, and delivery of cloud solutions.

  • Previous project management experience is advantageous

  • Experienced in cloud deployment, operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud architecture and core services.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing/managing and operationalizing low code applications

  • Demonstrated understanding of IT infrastructure tools, processes and practices, including Cloud resource provisions, deployment, microservices, and DevOps

  • Solid knowledge on Cloud security and monitoring

  • Excellent oral and written communication with a demonstrated ability to communicate the complexities of technical programs

  • Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability

  • Must be a US citizen or a permenant residence in order to be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous FAA and/or Government contracting work experience.

  • Demonstrated Cloud deployment models and related experience

  • Low code development experience, particularly Appian

  • Additional relevant AWS or other professional certifications

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
