Journeyman Mechanic

Job Description

Our client in Reno, NV is looking for a qualified Journeyman Mechanic with experience in aircraft standard mechanical work. This is a contract-to-hire, long-term opportunity, centrally located in Reno, NV. You will work closely with the Fleet Manager to maintain a fleet of vehicles, ensuring their safe and reliable operation. Duties include performing necessary repairs, checks, and preventative maintenance, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and educating operators about vehicle functions. You will also repair all interior non-medical equipment to applicable standards and represent the organization in a professional manner.

Hard Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience as a professional mechanic

  • ASE A4/A5 certification

  • Valid NV or CA Driver License

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Operation of common shop hand and power tools

  • Reading and applying shop manuals and manufacturer bulletins

  • Operation of simple computer programs and modern vehicular diagnostic equipment

  • Forklift certification

  • OSHA 10

  • EPA 609 Certification within 30 days

  • ASE A1, A2, A3, A6, A7, and A8 within 18 months

Soft Skills

  • Self-starter

  • Ability to multitask

  • Courteous and helpful demeanor

  • Professional representation of the organization

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 3 Months but will go permanent.

Shift: Sunday through Wednesday - 4 10 hour shifts

$25 to $31 an hour DOE

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Reno, Nevada.

Mechanic/Auto shop environment
