Collins Aerospace’s Integrated Strategic Solutions Engineering (ISSE) team is looking for an exceptionally motivated Engineer that is passionate about collaborating with High-Performance Teams to create mission critical solutions supporting Integrated Mission Systems.

Our Sr Software Engineers work in an exciting, adaptive, and engaging environment enabling rapid learning to drive success. Our senior software engineers utilize a variety of skills on a regular basis including requirements analysis, synthesis of new and existing architectures that meld commercial and military avionics functionality and software engineering development best practices for complex systems where the ability to execute the mission is paramount.

What YOU will do:

• YOU will join a software team working in a cross functional environment supporting the definition of System Requirements and consequently translation of System Requirements into Software Requirements and Models UML/SysML diagrams for a large program.

• YOU will communicate and collaborate with other Senior and Principal Level Software Engineers, mentoring junior engineers/interns.

• YOU will be responsible for providing direct support to stakeholders to answer questions and solve technical issues.

• YOU will work with other team members and domains to maintain and develop software design and code that satisfy customer and certification needs.

• YOU will be responsible for producing high quality software builds in an integrated test environment.

Education & Experience:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications you must have:

• Experience with Object Oriented Development using Java/C++ with the ability to create complex software designs from customer requirements.

• Experience with development tool sets, including Jira, Subversion/Git/Version Management..

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Skills we value:

• Experience with requirements analysis and requirements decomposition.

• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts using Cameo, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect.

• Experience with virtualization

• Knowledge of microservices, containers and orchestrators.

• 5+ years of experience in Java development

• Knowledge in OMS.

• Knowledge on DevSecOps and CI/CD

• Inter-process communication (kafka, ActiveMQ, DDS)

• Implemented Graphical User Interfaces with Java frameworks, such as Swing or JavaFX

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
