Job Duties

  • Must have a willingness to learn and take on new challenges and be client-focused and team-oriented.

  • Must have good time management skills and be able to manage multiple projects at any given time.

  • Assist in the entitlement process with conceptual and preliminary layouts.

  • Assist in the planning and design of utility design projects.

  • Preparation of engineering plans for compliance with applicable regulatory agencies ex. NESC (National Electric Safety Code).

  • Preparation of contract documents including project specifications and quantity/ cost estimates.

  • Preparation of as-built plans for final project approvals.

  • Manage projects through local, county, state and federal permitting and compliance with other regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Problem Solving/Analysis.

  • Ability to make independent decisions based on sound engineering judgment and past experience.

  • Ability to apply knowledge to a variety of assignments.

  • Ability to provide guidance to junior-level staff on objectives, critical issues, and concepts.

  • Able to complete prioritized activities and tasks in tandem with the needs of other departments.

  • Ability to interact with internal staff, reviewing agencies and customers as needed on project-related issues.

  • Ability to attend job-related meetings and be able to speak intelligently about engineering-related issues.

  • Will consult with supervisor on unique, unusual problems and developments

  • As experience expands, will play a role in collaborating on new or improved techniques and procedures on complex projects and assignments.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.

  • 3-10 years of full-time professional engineering work experience.

  • Advanced level experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • PE registration required

Additional Information

DRG Inc provides a full range of natural and cultural resource consulting services. Candidates must be comfortable working full time with a minimum of 40 - 45 hours per week. Compensation based on experience. DRG offers excellent benefits including health, dental, vision, and life insurance after 30 days of employment. Phone reimbursement is available.
