Where the team fits in
The Risk & Assurance Team sits within the Finance & Business Services Group, headed up by Janelle Hopkins. The Finance and Business Services Group, or FaBS as we like to call them, is the engine room of REA Group.
The team is comprised of Finance, Risk & Assurance, Procurement & Workplace, Financial Reporting, CXP which includes Contracts, and Customer Collections.
This cross-functional group of individuals who are the best in their fields, provide strategic commercial input and guidance around decisions across all levels of the business, while continually improving the ‘behind the scenes’ of REA to support our people, drive efficiencies and maximise customer satisfaction.
What the role is all about
Own and maintain the Risk & Assurance Community presence, ensuring all information is up to date and accurate
Work with the Senior Risk & Assurance BPs to schedule Risk Council meetings and ensure each meeting agenda is owned and executed by a different Senior Risk & Assurance BP on a rotating basis
For assigned partner businesses, assist the Executive Manager, Risk & Financial Controls Compliance via the Business Unit Risk Leads, drive the implementation of the REA Risk Management Framework
For the assigned partner businesses, assist in the execution of the annual Audit Plan that includes control testing oversight activities as well as targeted reviews
For the assigned partner businesses, assist in ensuring risks, issues and events are discussed, addressed and escalated in an appropriate and timely manner
For the assigned partner businesses, ensure the maintenance of the Business Unit Risk Profile, including Compliance Obligations, to ensure that potential and current risks faced by the business are articulated, quantified (financial and non-financial), mitigated and monitored
Where required, support or directly facilitate risk workshops to identify and assess risk impacts from business change
Who we’re looking for
Strong business/commercial acumen
Highly developed Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
Excellent business and report writing skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills – able to prepare engaging and persuasive messages to internal and external senior stakeholders including Board members, partners and regulators
Excellent ability to deal effectively with conflict and difficult situations involving key/senior stakeholders whilst maintaining an effective and collaborative working relationship
Able to act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Manager, Risk & financial Controls Compliance and think proactively about how best to achieve team plans and desired outcomes. Strong ability to multi-task and prioritise delivery of key projects and initiatives in terms of own workload as well as for the team
Ability to work efficiently and effectively, managing tasks and stakeholders to complete work within clearly outlined timeframes
Tertiary qualification in business, accounting, law or other relevant discipline
