Samsung SDS America Legal Assistant, IT Contracts and Legal Ops in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey

Position Summary:

In this challenging and rewarding role, you will manage contract review requests, enhance internal legal guidelines, serve as the in-house subject matter expert for our global legal system, and negotiate contracts for technology products and services. You will also navigate nondisclosure agreements and purchase orders, monitor intellectual property renewals, support HR policies, handle legal team payables, and provide administrative support to attorneys as needed. Your keen attention to detail and ability to spot errors will be invaluable as you collect, maintain, and organize executed contracts.

To succeed in this role, you should have 5+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree, and a strong understanding of IT contract legal requirements. Additional qualifications in law or project management are a plus. You should thrive in collaborative environments, interact seamlessly with colleagues at all levels, and possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Tech-savvy and adept at multitasking, you should embrace a can-do attitude and demonstrate a desire to learn and grow.

This role is based in our regional HQ in Ridgefield Park, NJ. Team works on hybrid schedule that requires to commute to the office several times a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage contract review requests and the collection and organization of contract data

  • Enhance internal legal guidelines such as process outlines, contracting and signature policies, and template libraries

  • Serve as the in-house subject matter expert and primary point of contact for the company’s global legal system

  • Stay agile by updating contract templates, drafting transaction documents (such as amendments), and negotiating contracts for technology products and services

  • Navigate nondisclosure agreements and purchase orders, adhering to legal team guidelines

  • Monitor intellectual property renewals, assist with responding to requests from outside patent and trademark counsel, and maintain all related documents

  • Support HR policies and ensure employee compliance training is on track

  • Manage the legal team’s payables, handling invoices for outside legal services and legal tools, and budget requests with the assistance of the accounting and finance teams

  • Assist with corporate governance tasks, maintaining corporate records and drafting resolutions and consents

  • Provide administrative support to attorneys in the legal team as required and assist with tracking legal team tasks and activities

  • Collect, maintain, and organize executed contracts

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant role, with a strong grasp of IT contract legal requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with additional qualifications in law or project management a plus

  • Keen attention to detail, and an ability to spot errors

  • Thrive in collaborative environments, interacting seamlessly with colleagues at all levels

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Tech-savvy, especially with MS suite, and adept at multitasking without compromising quality

  • Embrace a can-do attitude and demonstrate a desire to learn and grow

  • Comfortably engage with individuals across all levels of the organization

  • Possess or be willing to obtain a New Jersey Notary Public certification

  • Ability to commute to the office based in Ridgefield Park, NJ on a hybrid schedule
