Job Description:

Responsible for managing a team that is part of the second line of defense against risk. Supports the identification and assessment of risk. Provides effective challenge of risk management practices for capital planning, stress testing, resolution planning, market and liquidity risk in accordance with regulatory requirements, company policies and risk assessment framework.

Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a team responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and implementing comprehensive oversight of capital management, stress testing, resolution planning, market and liquidity risk in accordance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and risk assessment framework.

  • Reviews and provides effective challenge for quantitative (including statistical) methodologies and assumption sets used to measure, monitor, manage and report on capital adequacy, market and liquidity risks and value its investments and derivatives positions.

  • Leads the process for developing new as well as recalibrating existing risk appetite and Key Risk Indicators (KRI) metrics for capital, market and liquidity risk. Develops analytical tools and methodologies to support the analysis of these risk metrics and collaborates with the business for their review, assessment and adoption of these risk appetite and KRIs

  • Interacts with regulators and internal audit during exams, periodic meetings and MRA (and other findings) remediation work-streams and promptly addresses any regulatory, risk or audit matters.

  • Supports the review and assessment of market and liquidity risk exposure inventories in collaboration with the lines of business, and assists management with analyses and reports.

  • Manages and develops effective challenge documentation, process and procedure documentation and end user computing worksheets used by the team in order to meet internal controls, audit, and regulatory requirements.

  • Stays current on existing and new regulatory requirements and changes, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) issued by regulatory agencies, and adjust oversight work accordingly.

  • Manages, mentors and develops employees to drive sustainable engagement and high performance

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration and Management, Economics, or Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience in risk management, banking, treasury, or financial services

  • 5+ years of people management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Finance, Business Administration and Management, Economics, or Engineering

In Lieu of Education:

  • 12+ years of experience in risk management, banking, treasury, or financial services minimum

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $150,500.00 to $228,900.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
