Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Construction Manager - Marine & Coastal to join our team! In this role you will hold a key leadership role in the marina project, overseeing all aspects of construction, including quay walls, dredging, coral relocation, earthworks, soil improvement, mechanical flushing system installation, revetment, excavation, de-watering, and landfill.
This senior-level position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in marine and coastal construction, ensuring the successful completion of the project within specified timelines and budget constraints. Furthermore, this position demands a strategic thinker and seasoned professional who can provide guidance, drive project success, and ensure the highest standards of excellence in marine and coastal construction.
What You'll Be Doing:
Ensures and assures consistency in the execution of supply chain construction in accordance with Client technical requirements.
Coordinate with other delivery partners and all existing contractors, and future planned procurement of major contractors.
Contributes to the development of innovative construction principles and ideas.
Leads on unusually complex construction problems and provides solutions that are highly creative, in coordination with project leads.
Facilitates partnerships with key stakeholders/organizations impacted by the program.
Assigns work to employees, oversees, and tracks the completion of work assignments.
Interviews and selects personnel for assignment as required.
Maintains clear and concise work standards and goals; provides training and development; completes performance evaluations, conducts employee counselling, takes corrective action as necessary.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Develop and implement strategic plans for the successful execution of the marine and coastal construction project.
Align construction activities with overall project objectives and organizational goals.
Provide strong leadership to the construction team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
Coordinate with various stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
Oversee the execution of quay walls, dredging, coral relocation, and other marine and coastal construction activities.
Ensures adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations throughout the construction process.
Implement and manage quality control processes to guarantee the highest standards in construction work.
Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify any construction deficiencies promptly.
Monitor project expenditures and ensure compliance with the allocated budget.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety.
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address unforeseen challenges.
Implement contingency plans to minimize project disruptions.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in marine and coastal construction, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
Proven track record of successfully overseeing and delivering large-scale or mega marina construction projects.
Established relationships with regulatory bodies and a track record of ensuring compliance with permits and approvals.
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders effectively.
Previous MEA and/or other international experience
Working knowledge with all local and international standards in the field.
Safety Qualification / Awareness Training.
Expert knowledge of marine construction techniques, materials, and industry best practices.
Advanced project management skills with proficiency in relevant software.
Exceptional leadership and decision-making capabilities.
