Description We are offering a role in the manufacturing industry located in Roanoke, Virginia, United States for an Accounts Payable Clerk. The workplace entails on-site interviews and the employment type is a contract.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and liaise with vendors as part of managing accounts payable

• Handle credits and debits according to the company's procedures

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various financial tasks and reporting

• Oversee and manage sales and use tax operations

• Contact customers to collect past due payments and set up payment plans

• Maintain petty cash accounts and log all outgoing disbursements

• Monitor all vendor payment agreements to find discounts that can be used to reduce invoice amounts

• Enter vendor invoices into the accounting system accurately and promptly

• Have a minimum of 1 year of direct accounting experience

• Experience with Microsoft Suite and Accounting systems Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations and processes

• Knowledge and experience with Sales & Use Tax

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis

• Ability to accurately enter vendor invoices into the system

• Experience in Manufacturing industry preferred

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively

• Solid organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex transactions

• High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information

• Familiarity with accounting software and systems is a plus.
