Test Engineering Technician

Kelly® Engineering is hiring an Engineering Test Technician for a contract to hire position with our client, a medium volume manufacturer of Printed Circuit Boards located in Rochester Hills, MI. Day shift: 8-4:30

Overview

Our client provides custom PCB solutions for a variety of industries such as military, aerospace, industrial, and automotive. Their test engineering department is searching for a technician to join their team.

In this role, you will be responsible for end of line testing and root cause analysis of faulty boards. You will work both in on the production floor and in test lab.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • End of line testing of surface mount boards

  • In-circuit testing (ICT)

  • Troubleshoot boards to the component level

  • Troubleshooting SMT process to identify root cause of board nonconformance

  • Troubleshooting of software for testing equipment

  • Troubleshooting of test fixtures

  • Support test engineers, software engineers, process engineers

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: Associates degree in electronics or related

  • Component level troubleshooting of PCBs, required

  • PCB manufacturing experience required

  • Experience with troubleshooting SMT process

  • Ability to troubleshoot software for equipment

  • Utilize oscilloscopes, voltmeters, inspection tools, hand and power tools

  • Prior experience modifying or writing test procedures a plus

  • Strong technical aptitude and communication skills along with the ability to understand results of product performance testing
