University of Rochester 3-9000 Adult Inpatient Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) - Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to work in multiple areas in the department of psychiatry. The role will be split between adult inpatient and CPEP. The NP will work with a psychiatrist and social worker on 3-9000 caring for a team of 6 acute adult psychiatric patients. The NP will go to CPEP in the afternoon and will provide psychiatric evaluations and assessments, interventions and disposition planning for patients who present to the emergency room with urgent psychiatric mental health needs. Strong interpersonal skills, good organizational skills, and flexibility a must. The NP will also participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training. Qualifications: NYS Licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and ANCC Board Certification (certification required by end of first year of employment). At least one year of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in an acute clinical setting preferred.

Qualifications

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $ 44.71- $67.07

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
