Actalent Electronics Engineer in Rochester, New York

NEW ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING ROLE SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW ADVANCED TACTICAL RADIOS FOR A TOP AEROSPACE & DEFENSE COMPANY!!!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Development of detailed EMI test plans, as well as reviewing final EMI test reports for presentation to teams. This individual will also meet with engineering design teams to make recommendation on designs to mitigate potential EMI failures.

  • Manage the function of EMI/EMC Electromagnetic testing of complex electronic systems. Responsibilities include the understanding of MIL-STD-461F/G, MIL-STD-464C, DO-160G, MIL-STD-1275 and related commercial standards.

  • Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution, maintaining test software, tools, and equipment for EMI testing in anechoic chambers. This individual will also meet with engineering design teams to help assess test results and make recommendation on design improvements to mitigate potential EMI failures.

  • This position requires a person who can or can learn to respond to BOEs and RFPs.

Position will serve as the EMI SME.

• System Engineering experience.

• EMI/EMC and RF experience.

• Project management experience.

• Integration and Test experience.

• Electrical Engineering experience.

• Digital and Analog Audio Engineering experience.

• Lithium Ion and other rechargeable Batteries, Non-rechargeable batteries, Cylindrical, Prismatic and Pouch battery cell format knowledge.

• Power supply and power distribution understanding.

• Digital Data Flow (electronic) handling and management knowledge.

• Lab testing for electrical products or components.

JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Electrical or Computer Engineering

• 6+ years’ experience in systems, electrical or similar engineering field

• Good understanding of electrical engineering or engineering/applied electronics concept

• Ability to schedule and organize all required and requested tests

• Ability to operate and troubleshoot all testing equipment and tools

• Possesses a high level of attention to details

• Ability to accommodate occasional travel to customers, vendors, etc.

Preferred Skills:

• 5+ Years of Electrical Device Testing Experience

• Knowledge of Tactical Radios and Communication Systems

• Knowledge of digital and analog audio components and electrical characteristics

• Understanding of EE bench test equipment and use and appropriate application (Oscilloscopes, digital multi meters, power supplies, E-loads, etc.)
