Amergis Medical Nurse Practitioner - Neurosurgical in Rochester, New York
The Nurse Practitioner provides health care services topatients within scope of license, performs physical examinations and diagnostictests, assessments and screenings, prescribes medications, and instructspatients and family members on medical conditions and treatment. Additionally, the Nurse Practitioner may havean area of specialty practice.
3x13s or 7 on/7off - 13 hr. shifts, D/N, Weekends, On Call, Call Back per unit needs
Acute Care NP Certified or NCCPA Certified
Arterial/Main Line Placement experience
Minimum of 3 yrs. of Critical Care NP experience
Neurosurgical experience is highly preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides appropriate and optimal service to all patientswhich may include but not limited to:
Records patient's medical history
Performs physical examinations
Obtains psychosocial history relevant to patient care
Assesses and creates patient-specific treatment plans
Provides appropriate treatment interventions as indicated
Completes follow-up evaluations of ongoing cases
Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of acute,chronic, and long-term healthcare issues
Educates patients and/or families about preventive care,medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests toidentify and assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs
Records physical findings, and formulates plan andprognosis, based on patient’s condition
Discusses case with physician and other health professionalsto prepare comprehensive patient care plans which may include consultation,collaboration and referral
Submits health care plan and goals of individual patientsfor periodic review and evaluation by physician
Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatmentsuch as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures
Where state law permits, may engage in independent practice
Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
Current Nurse Practitioner Certification and license in thestate of practice required
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a nationallyaccredited nursing organization (e.g. American Academy of Nurse Practitioners –AANP, American Nurses Credentialing Center – ANCC) is preferred
Specialty Certification as per client request and or stateregulations if applicable
One year experience as an NP preferred
Maintain collaboration agreements, per state requirements
Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
