Description Robert Half is hiring a Payroll Clerk for one of our clients in the Healthcare, Hospitals, Social Assistance industry—if you want to join a dynamic, fast-growing team, you are encouraged to apply! In this role, you will support the Payroll department in a variety of duties, including data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. The ideal candidate should be able to effectively communicate between several teams, including the internal team and outside customers. A Payroll Clerk position has become available on a long-term contract / contract to permanent basis in the Rochester, New York area.

Your responsibilities in this role

• Contact employees via email and phone to obtain timesheet approvals

• Build a system of administering and distributing reports

• Construct and run custom reports

• Make sure data entered into spreadsheets and the payroll system is accurate

• Conduct clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc

• Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system

• Administer instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc. Requirements - Experience with high volume data entry

• Previous payroll experience

• Skillful in learning new processes and systems

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

• Payroll software experience recommended

• Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Knowledge of QuickBooks

• Process Payroll experience
