Genesee Regional Bank Risk Specialist in Rochester, New York

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:The Risk Specialist is responsible for various activities designed to mitigate the Bank’s physical security, fraud, and BSA/AML risks. This is achieved through the management of the Bank’s physical security controls, support of the Bank’s fraud process, support of the Bank’s BSA/AML Program, and other related tasks. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) / Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Responsibilities:Conduct appropriate monitoring and reporting activities to ensure the Bank’s compliance with BSA/AML/OFAC requirements.Assist the Bank’s BSA/AML Officer with the accurate and timely completion of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).Assist in the completion of the annual Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews for high-risk customers.Ensure site visits for high-risk customers are properly documented.Fraud Responsibilities:Conduct appropriate monitoring and reporting activities related to customer transactions that may be fraudulent.Communicate with customers regarding transactions that may be fraudulent.Assist with fraud reporting.Physical Security Responsibilities:Setup and maintain appropriate physical access to facilities.Monitor camera system to ensure functionality and adequacy.Other Responsibilities:Assist with legal requests. Provide timely, accurate, and appropriate responses to information subpoenas, levies, garnishments, and other legal requests. Ensure that the Bank appropriately retains evidence of the receipt of- and response to the legal request.Assist with third-party vendors utilized by the Risk Management Team.  General Responsibilities: Monitoring and reporting of Bank performance related to meeting its compliance obligations.Conduct analysis in a timely and efficient manner, using tools such as Excel. Effectively communicate the results of the analysis performed.Prepare and maintain documentation to an extent that will stand up to the scrutiny of auditors and examiners.Ensure the Bank’s activities are completely and accurately reflected in the Bank’s various reporting software tools in a timely manner.Assist with preparation and support activities related to audits and examinations.Assist with the preparation of risk assessments.Assist with the creation and maintenance of policies, procedures, standards, and best practices.Assist in the preparation of meetings and management reports.Maintain a solid working knowledge of laws and regulations.Actively participate in demonstrating the behaviors outlined in The GRB Experience.Meet expectations in performance, productivity, and quality standards.Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in a business-related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience with state and federal banking regulations or the equivalent combination of education and experience.SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.Ability to handle multiple tasks, moving quickly and effectively between competing goals.Ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion and sensitivity.Exceptional decision-making skills, demonstrating a high level of judgment.Provide a remarkable client experience.
