We are seeking a highly skilled Network Access Control Security Engineer to provide cybersecurity oversight to a large-scale NAC deployment. This position requires a firm understanding of Network Access Control (NAC) techniques and best practices. Candidate will work closely our internal and external business units providing cybersecurity recommendations and briefing solutions, as necessary.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Provide Network Access Control Subject Matter Expertise services including product deployment, configuration, health checks, optimization, training and troubleshooting

  • Provide cybersecurity oversight to a complex multi-site environment to ensure security standards, best practices, and secure policies are being met

  • Oversee Network Access Control technology, including the development of custom content, monitoring system health, performing upgrades/updates, and ensuring proper operation of physical & virtual appliances

  • Contribute to the development of best practices, feature enhancements, and training material of Network Access Control technology.

  • Participate in incident management & incident response during an outage or a breach when needed

  • Assist in proof of concepts, architecture design, implementation, maintenance, and continual enhancements of new cybersecurity technology or projects

Qualifications

The essentials

  • Five (5) or more years of technical hands-on experience in Cybersecurity and/or systems engineering

  • One (1) + years of experience with deployment or daily maintenance of Network Access Control technologies

  • Overall knowledge of large-scale network access control (NAC) systems - both 802.1x and non-802.1x

  • Experience with architecting, designing, securing, installing, troubleshooting, and documenting cybersecurity technology

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity standards, procedures, concepts and technologies

  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools

  • Knowledge of enterprise routing/switching platforms

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field of study.

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or Forescout Certified Administrator (FSCA) certification

  • Ability to follow change and configuration management.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure.

  • Experience in documenting requirements, configurations and changes as needed.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • US Citizenship required as part of Critical Infrastructure security protocols.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
