The Minnesota State Lottery is seeking a highly motivated, well-organized person to join our team as a Security Auditor! This position is responsible for auditing and evaluating the integrity of lottery data and games, and the access employees and vendors have to lottery facilities and data. This position is part of a team that is responsible for ensuring lottery employees, vendors, retailers and players remain in compliance with established and relevant mandates. This position is also responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive audit program for lottery games, internal controls and data.

Duties of this position include auditing and testing agency operations, evaluating accessibility provided to employees and vendors, and verifying winner claims made by players of lottery games. This position also assists the Director with developing policies and procedures relative to security and auditing of lottery operations and games.

Minimum Qualifications

To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year of each job. To qualify, you much meet each one of the following:

  • Two years of auditing experience that demonstrates the following:

  • Experience conducting compliance audits

  • Experience developing and analyzing audit policies, procedures, and guidelines

  • Knowledge of Minnesota Data Practices Act, federal and state government regulatory ethics and compliance related issues

  • Knowledge of current security practices

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, who do not share your same culture, ethnicity, language, or other common experiences.

(*NOTE: Bachelor’s degree or higher in: Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Data Analytics/Statistics or related field may be substituted for one year of experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within State or Local Government

  • Experience in conducting informational interviews

  • Experience working in Lottery, gaming or entertainment

  • Experience developing internal control procedures

  • Experience in the areas of business intelligence, developing spreadsheet formulas for data analysis and creating visual representations of data (charts, graphs, etc.); then delivering and presenting the data

  • MS Office Suite experience

  • Experience in security access systems (cameras, ID badge systems, etc.).

The Minnesota State Lottery will conduct a criminal background check and fingerprint check at the time of job offer for all prospective new employees.
