Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of hospital equipment and building components. You will assist tradesmen and work alongside team members to ensure the safety, care, and comfort of staff and patients.

• You will perform a variety of maintenance, including: repairs to machinery, equipment or facilities

• You will maintain the overall appearance of the facility

• You will execute miscellaneous work orders and answers trouble calls

• You will accurately document and maintain records for the facility

• You will perform preventative and routine electrical, plumbing and HVAC maintenance

• You will assist in ordering parts and supplied needed for maintenance

Job Requirements

Experience

• Experience in HVAC maintenance and repair and training as a plumber

• Supplemental training as an electrician – preferred

• 2 years previous experience in general maintenance in a hospital or similar institution – preferred

Education

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

• Technical, Vocational or other equivalent education

Certifications

• Licensed/certified in HVAC, Electrical, Plant Operations – preferred

• EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certification – preferred
