Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Contracts Administrator or Principal Contracts Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL to support Advanced Programs in our Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division. This position may be filled at a higher level based on qualifications below.

This position requires an understanding of DOD contracting and non-standard contracting (i.e. CRADA and OTA), excellent communication skills, strong technology acumen in M365, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills. The ideal candidate is a team player; but also, demonstrated problem-solving skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach. The preferred location for this position is in Roy, UT, at the Roy Innovation Center Campus, and relocation assistance may be available. The secondary preferred location is: Huntsville, AL

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Act as primary interface with customer for contractual issues; Monitor contract and associated program to ensure that contractual obligations are communicated and understood.

  • Participate in contract proposal preparation, contract negotiations, contract administration, and customer contract activities to manage assigned contracts in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

  • Work under general supervision to develop solutions to both routine and complex contractual matters to ensure company compliance with contract requirements on assigned programs.

  • Ensure fulfillment of contract requirements, manage contract changes, and maintain historical information.

  • Review standard and non-standard terms and conditions to address provisions and risks of financial terms, acceptance criteria, delivery requirements, warranty, intellectual property, termination provisions, indemnification and all other potential risk areas and recommend risk mitigation strategies.

  • Duties may also include the preparation of proprietary information agreements, teaming agreements, memorandum of understanding, and various types of memoranda/agreements.

  • Prepare and manage written communications with internal and external customers for assigned contractual matters.

  • Enter and maintain contract data into Contract Management System and/or Enterprise Accounting System.

  • Ensure timely delivery of all contractual deliverables.

  • Participate in contractual solutions to a variety of complex problems.

  • Ability to effectively work with the management of other organizations (program management, subcontracts, business management, and supply chain management) as well as customer representatives.

  • Supports complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plan schedules and arranges activities in accomplishing objectives. Most assignments are complex and performed with some direction from management. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Basic Requirements

This position may be filled at a Contracts Administrator level or Principal Contracts Administrator level

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 2 years in contracts or related professional experience; a Master's degree with 1 year or experience; or an additional 4 years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree (Principal level requires 5 years with a Bachelor’s; 3 years with a Master’s; or 9 years with a High School Diploma)

  • Experience with pricing principles and FAR/DFARS as well as associated Federal Contracting regulations

  • Experience in preparing and presenting briefings to senior level internal & external customers

  • Experience with managing cost plus type contracts

  • US Citizenship with an active DoD Secret Security Clearance awarded or reviewed within the last 6 years

  • Must have an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of nonstandard contracts - OTAs and CRADAs

  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman Contracts processes and procedures

  • Proposal experience

  • NCMA Certification (CPCM, CFCM and/or CCCM)

  • Ability to work independently and make independent decisions, ensuring high levels of collaboration with stakeholder and subject matter experts

  • Active Top-Secret security clearance and/or SAP

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $62,200 - $93,400

Salary Range 2: $76,600 - $115,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
