The IandE Maintenance Engineer is a 12-month contract position working on-site for our Specialty Chemical Client located in Port Neches, TX.

The IandE Maintenance Engineer is responsible for providing both instrument and electrical engineering expertise to an assigned area of the site. This position is to assure proper design, change management, installation and repair of instrument and electrical equipment according to regulatory and standards. This position will be the focal point for all changes involving, but not limited to; instrumentation, control valves, motors, switchgear, motor control centers/starters and transformers. The IandE Engineer will work closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations to understand needs and requirements and to provide a design and installation package.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the Management of Change (MOC) for the assigned area and assist with turnaround scope development. Initiate change requests during turnarounds impacting instrumentation, valves, electrical equipment, and motors. Provide technical support for maintenance, operations, and troubleshooting of site instrumentation, control, and electrical systems. Participate in RCM Asset Management Plan (AMP) development, implementation, and provide input for PM development. Audit and improve PM programs for instruments and electrical equipment based on failures, process changes, and PM data. Support Turnaround and Inspection (TandI) scope development and lead investigations of high-impact incidents. Drive bad actor identification and root cause analysis to eliminate equipment failures. Provide leadership for instrumentation and electrical systems in site modifications and capital projects. Ensure projects align with site standards, focusing on maintainability and reliability. Offer capital and expense project ideas based on reliability data and operations feedback. Facilitate problem analysis and risk assessments for critical equipment failures. Interface with technicians, engineers, operators, and team leaders to ensure operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements. Regular workplace presence and overtime may be required to meet production goals. Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives and complete required training.

Job Requirements: BS Electrical Engineering or equivalent required 1+ years IandE Maintenance or Reliability Engineering experience required, 5 years IandE Maintenance or Reliability Engineering experience preferred TWIC Card or be able to obtain one Knowledge of control systems including control valves, transmitters, pneumatic and electronic instrumentation, PLC/DCS, etc. Basic understanding of engineering, purchasing, accounting and construction practices and maintenance workflows Knowledge of risk-based work prioritization methodology Knowledge of economic evaluation methods (Life-Cycle Cost Analysis, NPV, Benefit/Cost) Knowledge in Reliability Centered Maintenance or some form of Asset Management Plan Development is desired Candidates must be within daily commuting distance of Port Neches, TX.
