Rye Country Day School Fall Athletics Middle School and Junior Varsity Coaches in Rye, New York

Rye Country Day School is seeking Fall Season Coaches beginning August 19th through November 22nd, 2024. Rye Country Day School is a coeducational, Prek-12, college preparatory school located in Westchester County, New York dedicated to providing students with an excellent education using both traditional and innovative approaches. We are actively committed to creating and sustaining a school community that is nurturing, supportive, diverse, and inclusive, one in which all students can participate fully and achieve their maximum potential through academic, athletic, creative, and social endeavors. We expect and promote moral responsibility and strive to develop strength of character within a respectful school community.

Beginning August 19th through November 14th, 2024, Middle School and Junior Varsity coaching roles in the following sports are needed:

  • Field Hockey

  • Football

  • Boys’ Soccer

  • Girls’ Soccer

  • Volleyball

  • Sports Conditioning

Specific responsibilities of each position includes:

  • Managing student athletes

  • Communicating with athletes, parents and guardians, and the Athletics administration

  • Attending all practices and games

  • Helping to development the sports program

  • Supervising teams before and after practices/contests

  • Completing or assisting to complete comments and providing feedback at the completion of each season

  • Performing other related duties as assigned by the Athletics Administration and Varsity Head Coach

Desired qualifications:

  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Coaching experience

  • A well-developed sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community members; a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently

  • Strong organizational, administrative, and technology skills

  • A positive attitude and an ability to foster a cooperative work environment and to work well with other members of the department, supervisors and employees
